Julie Connolly, Owner & Colorist/Hairstylist

Julie specializes in Curly Hair, Hair Healing, Extensions, and Hair Color: Grey Blending, Blondes, Color Corrections. She has been working in the beauty industry for over 20 years. Her love and passion for empowering people and her talents with hair led her to open The Jewel Box Salon in 2018. Julie has worked around the globe in many facets of the beauty industry as a business owner, hairstylist, and make-up artist and as an educator and mentor. She started her career at Art and Science Salon in Chicago. She loves the challenge of creating natural looking styles and color using modern techniques. Julie loves to help people to feel and do their best. Helping her clients and staff feel welcomed, relaxed, empowered and beautiful are her true passions.

Lindsay Battaglino, Hairstylist & Make-up Artist

Lindsay loves doing hair and make-up styling for weddings, special events and photography as well as haircutting and creative color. She has been around the beauty industry most of her life, having grown up the daughter of a hairdresser. A California native, she studied at Redwood Empire Beauty College and then worked as a hairstylist and make-up artist in the San Francisco Bay Area for over a decade before moving to beautiful Spokane. Lindsay believes deeply that the art of beauty is defined by how people are made to feel. With this at her core, she prides herself on being approachable, open to feedback and creating an experience in which clients feel comfortable, supported and heard. Lindsay is passionate about honoring the uniqueness and vision of her clients and is so excited to be part of the Jewel Box family.

Cassandra Weaver, Hairstylist, Colorist, Extensions

Cassandra has been behind the chair since 2018 and specializes in dimensional, lived-in color that grows out beautifully, along with seamless grey blending. I also love cutting hair—whether it’s a soft shag, flowing long layers, or a bold pixie crop, I tailor every cut to highlight your personality and lifestyle. For guests wanting extra fullness or length, she offers extensions, custom halos, and tailored wigs that blend effortlessly and look completely natural. As a former cosmetology instructor, she brings both creativity and technical expertise to every appointment. Most importantly, her chair is a safe space, and I believe our hair is the true crown of the spirit.

Abbey Crawford, Hairstylist

Abbey loves cutting curly hair, and has been working as a hair stylist for close to a decade in Spokane. The Jewel Box Salon is the perfect place for her to share her artistic skills. She excels in vintage updos, and loves fantasy hair color. Abbey apprenticed for over a year to learn specifically how to cater to curly haired clients, but she is comfortable with all kinds of hair textures. Abbey excels in all aspects of helping her clients feel appreciated and beautiful. She is happy to help if you’re looking for a game change!

Vivian Mendoza, Hairstylist & Make-up Artist

Vivian enjoys cutting, coloring, and loves blonding. A professional in the industry for over 13 years, Vivian loves to help the beauty you feel on the inside be mirrored on the outside, She specializes in Wedding Hair and Make-up, and is also proficient in tape and bead extensions. Ashley Bushnell, Hairstylist/Colorist

Ashley has been a Hair Artist for 13 years and specializes in custom dimensional blondes, color corrective services, and loves fun fashion color! Susana Moonitz, Hairstylist

Susana loves to help people with their hair, especially curly hair and utilizing her curly haircutting skills. Susana attended Cosmetology School in central Oregon and moved to Spokane with her husband and dog after graduating in early 2022. She is incredibly driven to become the best stylist she can, by gaining as much knowledge as possible through her apprenticeship with Julie this past year.

Sydney Flemmer, Esthetician/Brow Expert

Sydney has been a licensed esthetician since 2017. Microblading, Brow shaping, brow laminations and lash lifts are some of her specialties and favorites! She loves customizing Facials based on each individual clients concerns and needs, while creating a rejuvenating and relaxing experience. Sydney really enjoys taking care of people and strives to make each person love the skin they're in!

Ryan Marek, Tattoo Artist & Owner, Jewel Box Tattoo

Ryan specializes in a wide range of styles, from vibrant color and classic grayscale to bold black work, detailed illustrative pieces, and expressive abstract designs. He is dedicated to making every tattoo a one-of-a-kind piece of art that tells a story. (Tattoo shop is located above the Salon in Suite 320)

Ryan's artistic journey began at a young age. It was his grandmother who first taught him painting, sculpting, and wood carving. A student of the legendary Bob Ross, she passed down much of her knowledge and passion for art. Ryan honed a keen eye for composition and design while earning a degree in Graphic Design and Marketing. What started as a lifelong passion has now become his life's work as a professional tattoo artist.
